Many people believe that shortly after death a butterfly will appear with a message from the deceased.
There was a funeral in the village church yesterday and the priest was eulogising at, I'm told, some length.
A butterfly entered the church, circled the congregation then landed between the priests eyes.
The priest announced....Hmmm...I think W. has sent the butterfly to tell me to stop talking and get on with the service. :-)
Butterflies in December? One year i had reason to move a big heavy wardrobe just after Christmas and found a lot of hybernating butterflies.
Come spring they were all over the windows waiting for freedom
A late friend of mine was a vicar who officiated at lots of funerals. She told me about the time when a butterfly flew round when the burial was about to take place. Makes you think,
I lost count of the number of large moths I had to catch and release in the. ITU after deaths ( especially when it was not a peaceful passing). I was the only one willing to chase them round the unit, but I did get quite good at it.
I don't know about butterflies but does anyone know anything about the smell of flowers?
When little G was just 3 days old I walked past his his crib and there's was an intense aroma of flowers which appeared suddenly, and was only around his crib. You couldn't smell it in any other part of the room.
The same smell appeared after both my granddad and nan died and the smell was all around their armchairs.
I'm inclined to think someone visited to see the new baby?
Weirdly, gness- and you know I don't go with these "wishful interpretation " things... a few years ago, one of our lovely gentleman clients died. My sister and I were remembering him ,a little emotionally, in my garden- and a butterfly actually landed on my hand for a few seconds, stopped and then flew away.
We both knew it was coincidence- but still felt quite comforted by it :-)
