I know, Woof.

I have emailed the person, with the offer of toys and leads, which were also asked for. I have also added that a crate will not be necessary. I don't hold out much hope for a reply.

That's not the way to do it, have they owned a dog before, do they know what's involved?
I'm really not a fan of crates, and to put a large, full grown dog in one is awful.
If you can get a dialogue going with them, they may be open to accepting some advice.
Difficult to comment unless we know the full background ,could be for transporting .?
Question Author
I don't know anything about this person. It was just a 'Wanted' item on Freegle.

If they are going to use a crate....and some people do find them helpful and the dogs like them, then at least get an extra large.
I wonder what they will do if they don't get one?

A medium sized crate would not be big enough for a juvenile GSD, Anne.

Yes, Mamya. That's what I'm hoping for.
I'm aware of the size of crates Tilly.
Question Author
Then you know that a medium sized crate is no good for transporting a juvenile GSD, Anne.
Tilly //I don't know anything about this person. It was just a 'Wanted' item on Freegle. //
Then I would refrain from judging before you know the full facts.

I thought rescue societies vetted homes before allowing dogs to be adopted. The person must have passed the vetting.

The person had emailed me saying:-

'Hello thank you for your reply ,I have never had a dog before so it's all new to me,, that would be great thanks.'

Well done, Tilly.
Well as we are all judging I'd be very surprised/concerned if a proper rehoming centre would agree to anyone who's never had a dog taking on a 2yr old GSD.
Question Author
Not there yet, Tony, but thanks anyway.

Question Author
I'll ask for the details. I don't know where this person is taking a GSD from a rescue organisation or just some fella from down the street.
The person seem's to have reconised that a medium sized crate isn't suitable though, Tilly.
I'm just hoping that this poor dog has a happy life from now on.

I know Tilly will give them good advice if she is able and they will accept it.
