It's keeping pretty good time for an old girl. I say "girl" as it's probably a ladies' size watch, but not necessarily.

No provenance at all. Bought it off a guy for $25. The movement was made in the States, as indicated in the photos, and the case was made in Toronto so it was probably purchased initially by a Canadian.

I need to be nice as I often wondered about asking you a favour. I inherited a pendulum clock that was made by my great great grandfather. When I first got it, it worked but didn't keep very good time.The chiming never worked though. Now it doesn't work for more than about 5 minutes. I've often though I should get it fixed bit I wouldn't know where to start or who to ask. Would you have a look if I posted a couple of pics - just for your opinion, not for you to fix it of course.

Prudie, that's a fairly old clock and probably needs a major cleaning and oiling by a clockmaker. Photos of it, especially the movement of course, would be interesting.

I had two grandfather clocks that didnt go and now do

five hundred each - now they go and chime

all the visitors under thirty - go "oo how can you have a clock doing that twenty four hours a day ? " easy I am over sixty

You're right, Peter, The overhauling is not inexpensive; however, if the clock has monetary and/or sentimental value then...Well, it's up to the owner to decide.
