4,376,000 μm. That's how long my piece is anyway.

A piece of string is always twice the length measured from one end to the middle.

more to the point, how many more times is this question going to be asked?

Rojash, you seem to be confused. The questions go at the top of the page.

The bit where you have typed some text is for ANSWERS.

It's about the same length as a piece of rope
It has to be long enough to fit between both ends.

kempie already answered this question . . .

here

There is a book by this name, read it for the full answer.

The summarised answer is that it is pretty much as long as you want it to be, depending on the scale of the ruler you use.

This is because it is pretty much impossible to straighten a peice of string to be able to measure it. Once you think you have it straight you zoom in a bit and it is all zigzag again.

Think of a river that looks 1000 miles long on a map of a country, then look at a small part of the same river on an ordnance survey map, there will be hundreds of small twists revealed, this process can continue infinitely.

A length of string is x metres long.
never quite long enough
Of course there's a definitive answer.

yeah but no but yeah or summin or nuffin it says 5meter roll when you buy it.
Depends on what you want to use it for.
