I couldn't bear to watch it. If men wish to slaughter one another let them get on with it, but bringing animals to suffer their madness is inexcusable.
I was scared to watch it for a long time because everyone said it was so sad and I just can't bear sad animal stuff. If I'm honest I was quite disappointed when I finally did, It was much more disneyesque than I expected. Watch it though, it has some nice moments and you need to form your own opinion. I didn't cry once and that's abnormal for me.
Watched the first 15 minutes, attention wavering a bit by then, now got to 20 minutes and realise boredom has set in, nothing of interest so far, am off to find some music on the Radio!
I enjoyed the stage play for its technical acheivements. But being a children's book the story is as predictable as they come and this film reminds me of wintery Sunday afternoons as a 10 year old. Curled up on the sofa watching sentimental movies with my Dad. Even the music is reminiscent of Lassy Come Home!
