OH decided to have sardines on toast for tea. When he opened the tin found the sardines were in oil not tomato. Decided to be "helpful" he poured the oil from the tin into a bottle of Virgin olive oil!!
The oil is now ruined unless I save it just for fish, but I hate sardines and I think it will taint anything I cook so I think it is a bin job. Grrrrr.

Jeez. Can't do right for doing wrong!
Jeez, I hate it when they try to be helpful!
Next job for OH: fit a lock on kitchen door and hand the key over to you.

I have explained the error of his ways and surprise surprise he actually agreed with me!!
quite right, put him in the bin :)
give him his due though he didn't put it in the car....(not completely daft)
I'm afraid a lot of people suffer from what I call "calculated incompetence". If someone tries to help and makes a mess of "helping", you won't ask them again. Which means they get away with not doing their share of work around the house.
Don't get me started! Asked himself to sort out lunch for the kids, leftover pizza from last night or toasties. He microwaved my leftover pizza (with mushrooms which they hate) as well as the cheese one, said he couldn't tell the difference. None of them wanted my pizza so he chucked it in the bin, no lunch or tea for me. Bloody idiot.
Be lovely to have an OH to moan about.
Why stereotype all men based on your OH (or at least this is what I infer from your title - apologies if I am wrong)?
I suppose you could always blame the m-i-l for not teaching your husband how to cook?

On the other hand, if try to fix this problem and teach your sons how to cook and look after a house, they're left with only one use for their woman. I'll bet that doesn't end well.

;-)
he meant well and will now have seen the error of his ways, chuck it away and ask him to buy you another bottle, olive oil isn't exactly cheap is it ?
P.S. Was the tin labelled "tomato"?

If it was then claim from the supplier, if it wasn't then teach OH to read ! ! ! !

To be honest he does cook, he makes a mean curry. If he sees a recipe in the paper he cuts it out and will have a go. He just didn't notice the tin said In oil.
