its a old dance, people all stand in a circle. they use to do it alot in working mens clubs. might still fir partys. u just do as the song says. ie put ur left arm in and shake it about.

It's the "Hokey Pokey." Composed in the late 1940s by Larry LaPrise and two bandmembers as an interactive dance for guests at ski resorts in Sun Valley, Idaho.
