The Bible states, “and his ears are toward their cry for help.” (Ps. 34:15) How important it is, then.............Prov. 3:5.

goodlife, do you have [oh, this is such a silly question] an independant report backing up that figure of 700 a day being baptised? [Independant means a source other than the watchtower]

//im a father and i would never hurt my children, let alone put them in a lake of fire for not adhering to my rules, so if your children, if you have any
would you let them suffer if they did not listen to your advice, i think not
or would you caste them out, and ignore them excommunicate them etc//

Fender@ You do not have understanding. The Lake of Fire is not a literal fire. Nowhere does God say he will burn people. In fact, your point of throwing children into the fire is something that man has invented as in the Hebrew (OT) scriptures it tells us that the thought never entered his (Jehovah’s) head.
This is where false religion and true religion differ.
Fender, no, you see, the bible only means what it says when what it says suits Goodlife.
erm Sodom and Gomorrah was where God burned people I seem to remember.

And didnt God tell Abraham to sacrifice his son ?
[ whi leads me to conclude that at the time that document was written, human sacrifice was the norm ].

I am nonetheless happy to hear that some of the Bible is figurative and not literal
I am not happy with Goodlife's translation of Mt 24 34

amin lego humin oti ou my parelthy he genea ews an panta tauta genytai

Amen I say to you this generation should not pass away until all thse things happen.

no mention of J.

//I am not happy with Goodlife's translation //

Jehovah's Witnesses do tend to do their own thing.
and I dont like the free use of Acts 2 21
or the translation.

kai estai pas hos ean epikalesetai to onoma Kuriou swthysetai

and it will be that everyone who calls on the name of Lord will be saved.

I think is materially different from ... calls on the name of Jehovah.

Not only this: the context 20: the sun will be darkened... moon will turn to blood before the day of the Lord arrives......and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

This last phrase strikes me as clearly glued to the apocalyptic bits that come before.

we are told that in the Final Days that the ridiculers will come along (poreuomai is the verb used) and say their own thing so how do we know that Good Life is not one of them ?

[ that last bit is for the folks who say you can't prove the validity of a document by quoting it: but it seems you can question its internal consistency or invalidity . I am grateful to Godel ]

well at least this is getting me to read and think about bits of the NT that I wouldnt otherwise bother with
The Green Tara; the female Buddha of wisdom and active compassion, by so doing we increase our fearlessness and come under Tara’s loving care and protection.
Her green-coloured body symbolises that she is a fully purified element and can respond swiftly to the prayers of those in need.
In lifetime after lifetime, Tara has manifested in female form to demonstrate that enlightenment is attainable by men and women alike.

Peter, You might find this interesting.

I turn to John Sebastian Bach. A lot less complicated than words, written or spoken. Well Tempered Clavier this morning.
