The Bible states, “and his ears are toward their cry for help.” (Ps. 34:15) How important it is, then.............Prov. 3:5.

My family. They're dependable.
What do you mean by 'distressing' ?
Whom*
Myself and my family of course.
If I was facing a truly distressing situation I think I would look again to strong drink to be my support. It has been my help in ages past and I'm starting to see it as my hope in years to come.
I'll drink to that Sandy!
Family and close friends. Can't beat 'em!
My dog, he always cheers me up.
Sandy, is there any spirit that you have found more helpful, I find St. Malt of Connemara helpful in a gentle and soothing way.
The isle of Islay has produced a few saints and scholars. But none of them could offer solace which compares with the comfort to be found in a bottle of Laphroaig.
Sandy I have to agree with you that St.Malt of Laphroaig has many redeeming characteristics, although I find St Glen of Morangie fortifies the soul equally.
Of course distress can have a negative effect on us healthwise just as a proper diet and sufficient rest has a good effect. Family and friends can also help. Having faith in God is another help. I have found, personally, that prayer helps to calm the mind as I am concentrating on something other than the situation I am in. Matthew 7 v 7 is good because there Jesus is telling us to "keep on asking" and Romans 12 v 12 says to "persevere in prayer".
My family, friends and my dogs, there is no one else!

and goodlife, please do not go preaching all you Bible clap trap, no one wants to hear it!!
My closest friend - and the keeper of my secrets.

Clue - it's not Jesus!

My family is too, but difficult circumstances affect more people than ever before, distressing problems are not new to mankind. Let see if you can learn anything from some of God’s servants who in the past successfully faced life. Rom. 15:4. and they didn’t have Glen moray or any other strong drink to be their support or the Bible as a whole,

So atheists are out. As for Ratter. If you don’t want to read my posts, don’t. I am not asking you to. And if no one wants to know, why do they read and answer?
My partner, who is my bestest friend, and my family, who are a wonderful bunch of people.
family.
St Glen of Morangie and all the other alcoholic false prophets will do you no good at all in this life or the next, you heathens.

St Baileys is my saviour
I'm still stuck with orange juice.

Credit where it's due, though, to goodlife for replying to posts directly.
