Hi Lady J how are you diddling? You sound as if you are suffering with that brace. My OH had a huge foam contraction strapped to him for 6 weeks when he had a shoulder op, it was blue and was wider and deeper than his body - we nicknamed it his "Postman Prat" outfit. He did look rather silly! and couldnt even lie down in bed, had to sleep in a chair. Worked well though, after months of physio afterwards, gor full use back and docs were surprised!

glad tohear about your hubby ann. gives me hope. my brace goes from wrist to shoulder at right angles and is quite rigid. was projected to be only six weeks but is now nine weeks. don't know why.

have had a go at sleeping in chair for weeks but decided to try bed. this has been going on since 02.08.12.know lots of peeps are worse off but feeling low at the moment.

Nothing wrong with being daft and selfish with how you are at the moment, LJ, and I join the NoM club of alba-coloured envy, esp for the food and wine -I have always enjoyed those coastal places in Italy for that - Cecina, south of Livorno having fond memories of stellar food, sea food risotto, Langoustine, pecorinos, gelatis, a local Tuscan wine or three bottles and gelatos, followed by the pousse cafés - all for 70 Euros for three of us.
