Most of the dog walkers I meet locally have got rescue dogs, either from the pound or a rehoming association.
I met five today, including an albino JRT. He was a cutie.

My lot do the 'Let me in, I want to go out again' routine. I should instal swing doors.
Years ago I visited a old friend in Cumbria, she was married to a farmer, he had two border collie pups which he didn't think would shape up as working dogs.

He was going to drown them!!

Did I have any other option than to bring them home with me. No.
They gave me 16 years of pleasure and a great deal of heartache when they passed on.
This weekend I am going to a dog show in Staffordshire with my dogs on Sunday. On the way on Saturday I am picking up one of our rescues from the kennels who is being collected from the show by someone who will take her back to Lancashire to be collected by her new owners from Cumbria. Also I am collecting a rescue Staffie from Norfolk (a nightme apparently!) and taking her to the show to be taken by another friend to a rescue place in Derbyshire.
'nightmare' lol
Oh, forgot, dropping off a rescued cat in Northampton on the way - he will travel shotgun with me in the van up front!
Shaney was a rescue dog .Someone threw him out of van in a buliders yard and drove off .He was all skin and bone .
My neighbour worked there and as we had not long lost our old terrier Mickey he asked me if I would like to have him .He'd been in the yard for a couple of days and the men were feeding him .So I said Ok ,bring him round .
He walked in ,sat down ,made himself at home and that was that .He was about eighteen months old when I got him and he was a wonderful dog until I had to let him go :(
All my wonderful dogs have been rescued dogs, as have my parents dogs and any future dogs we would be lucky to have, will be rescues too.
