I am receiving for the first time in a long time emails into my private account. Telling me to say thanks for any answers I receive from the posters.

Sorry Ed I truly thank everybody - that is my nature so it is a bit perturbing for me to hear you to tell me to say thank you - it makes me feel like a kid.

Are there many emails Commemmara? And are they from Ed?
I have never had anything like that.
Really?? Is it not just part of a Newsletter or something similar?
I have never received one from AB
I've never received anything like that. Sounds a bit fishy. Are you sure they're coming from the Ed?

good morning - they are coming from Answerbank so I assume from Ed - nothing sinister in them just asking me to say thanks
I haven't had anything like that at all......
you're welcome, Connemmara

[this is just to forestall any emails telling me to say "You're welcome".]
incidentally, you might want to copy this into the Ed's Blog section, he might be more likely to see it there
I've never had anything like that..... must was sorry to see that the latest AB Newsletter went straight into the Junk email box, so I nearly missed it.
You get them when you subscribe to a thread. Here is an example - not too perturbing IMO ...

You are right Ellip - a subscription of Breast Pain was mentioned - however I never "subscribed" to that either - it just came up at bottom right of page. No big deal.
Maybe you pressed the subscribe link accidentally. Easily done, and the "Thank you for subscribing" message is easily missed, too, so you might not realise you'd accidentally subscribed until a message turned up in your email.

You can easily unsubscribe by clicking the link at the bottom of the offending email message.
