have to find something for a relative, not sure what to get. He will be 40 next birthday, which is a few months off, but i haven't a clue. Can't afford a fortune, but something nice. He is into gadgets, not big on jewellery, or aftershave. All ideas welcome.

he has a good watch, he doesn't drink much, and it wouldn't be spirits.
He has a kindle, so not sure about the book, but might have a look out.

an adventure of some sort, club together with other family members to get him a uniue experience .. for my 40th, i was thrown out of a plane strapped to a parachutist - and for my 50th, i was treated to a ride in a hot air balloon. expensive gifts yes, but as i said, club together with others
A good camera or binoculars or look at `I want one of those`. Let us know what you chose. I bought a pair of lightweight binoculars recently.
iTune gift card, we bought one for number one sonand he was really pleased
£50 at Sainsburys (he's in his thirties)
Sunglasses? a designer polo shirt? a good leather belt? a good-quality pen (a mont-blanc but they're expensive), a gps to go geocaching...!!?

not sure, as i said he is a bit hard to buy for. But a 40th is special, so will look online..
On some sites you can buy the copy of a newspaper from the day he was born which is unusual.
All boils down to how much you want to spend
