110/220 electrical outlets

Going on a cruise and the plug outlets are as above. Are these for English plugs or do I have to buy an adaptor? It is a US ship sailing from Southampton.

You will need an adapter. All the cruise ships I have been on have the recessed type socket shown on this link to Wikipedia (the top right socket in the photo).

Be warned that some Euro adapters will not fit within the circular recess to make contact with the electrical supply.
You need to buy the same adapter as you'd buy if you were going to the States. Look for a USA adapter when you buy.
