Hi ,has anyone on here got 20 something girls living at home?My daughter has just got a job and expects us to run her to the train station each morning, pick her up each evening, make breakfast,a packed lunch, and tea on the table when she gets home late.I wouldnt mind but there is never any thanks, just a slam of the car door on her way to work. She also seems to always be moody and unhappy generally,we want her to be happy but we cant seem to say the right things, whatever we do is met with a shrug or a sullen sort of manner,it would be nice to know if any one else is putting up with this!

she expects it because you do it...dont do it, and she wont expect it anymore...
She's 20? what's the matter with her legs? - let her walk to the station. She can make her own breakfast and get together her own packed lunch.
Do she give you housekeeping money? - I sincerely hope she pays her way. Do you do her washing and ironing too? Your daughter needs to grow up a bit and start being responsible....
Sorry, seems like you have made a rod for your own back for allowing her to behave in this way, she is ungrateful, and sees the help you give to her as her right!......she needs a short, sharp shock!.......like this: make your own sandwiches, find your own way to work, do your own laundry, cook your own food, and above all have some respect!........alternative: move out!.........will help you to pack with pleasure!.....
I'm all for helping out kids(who isn't?) however once they reach adulthood some need a gentle nudge in order to help them venture out into the big, wide world. Start by easing off on making her packed lunch, maybe twice a week only and go out without her for tea one night a week i.e. don't actually be around when she gets in so she has to A: make her own way home and B: has to make her own tea.
She'll get the message soon enough.
