Had a meeting with my curriculum head today and she told me that I wouldn't actually qualify at the end of the year until I do another unit that she has just remembered about. Because she has taken so long to realise I can't be put on the register for the class and have to do it as a self study unit and pay £80 to do it! Fuming :-|

erin,what are you stydying ?
As this seems to be the fault of the school/college surely they should be asked to pay.
put a calm letter together with a chronology of events and take it to the principal/head whoever.....

propose that they cover the costs of the self study unit - or that you should qualify and will do a release next year to cover that unit if that is feasibly possible,,,,

HNC Childcare and Education. SHOULD be a qualified Early Years Officer at the end of the course. Just can't believe she has left it so late as this is the time when it gets really hectic and now I have to do the extra unit as well now :(
Write to the Head to complain. £80 is a lot of money to fork out for someone else's mistake. She could have advised you earlier.

I'm not the only one. It happened because we did a different access course to the rest of the class. I'm going to make an appointment with guidance and see what they say. I would hope that i'm entitled to something as SAAS are paying my tuition fees for everything else.
