A second explosion has killed all those poor miners in New Zealand.

I can't remember the last time a News story left me sitting in my car, crying.

And what's the headline on the BBC News?

... Giving publicity to a bunch of whingeing students.

Those whiney students need to get a grip.

It's nothing personal JJ, it's just interest in whether news presentation has an influence on people's reaction to that news.

It's the end of a hope that you'd held for so long, bibble.

Reactions ...

9/11 ... OMG, horrific.

Tsunami ... OMG, horrific.

Cambodia ... OMG, horrific.

But, the miners didn't make it ... I had SO been hoping for a different end.

Anyway, bed now. Night.

You've lost me, what hope have I held for so long? I don't remember expressing any hopes for anything.
Sorry, just sussed it, its a hope that YOU had held for so long.
I thought the Daily Mash summed up the student protests nicely with this piece...

The people who died in Cambodia were celebrating and the people who died in NZ were trying to make a wage.
One is happening in the UK and the other on the far side of the world.

I think you'll probably find the BBC's world service features student protests much less prominantly
It goes to show the mine's owners cared more about profits than human safety. It must have been well known that methane is produced in places such as this but it seems no failsafe mechanism was in place to rescue the miners.
