I think you are being had - if you look at the first pic on here http://www.google.co....num=1&ved=0CCcQsAQwAA
it says the bacon comes from the underside of the pig, all the rest of it is porky products.
Don't forget about the pigs that are deliberately injected with the Eczema virus, thus making the production of Pork Scratchings so much easier...
Yuk! Is that true snags?
eewgh snags, that's gross! but don't forget the pigs with cigars, so you get ready-smoked bacon.........
squarebear!!
Are those cigars made by HAMlet boxtops?
Bacon is just cured pork, it can be made from several (possibly all) of the cuts of pork from a pig.
This is clearly groan corner, now (with no offence intended, sue629) - come on Babes, think of something else before it gets Boaring.
Chuck, if bacon is cured pork what was wrong with the pork in the first place?
It was sick... Duh!

:)
In South America, a breed of pigmy pig has been successfully genetically modified with large flaps of skin on either side of its body... proving the age old adage that pigs, can in fact, now fly...

Ok thx everyone, but wasnt too sure, i didnt mean to start all the piggy jokes.. he sounded very convincing when he was telling me.. xxxxx
As Mr Fickens said, Pork is just another name for pig meat which doesn't really sound that nice. Bacon is pork that has been treated with a process (pickling. brine etc) just as Ham is (smoked etc.).

btw The only stupid questions are the ones that you don't ask.
Bacon is produced from 'baconers,' pork is produced from 'yes you guessed it' these are pigs between 120 and 140 lbs in weight. Bacon pigs are larger older pigs specially raised but not a special breed. To make a large pig economically worthwhile it has to be fed on a cheaper diet otherwise the bacon would be too expensive. Old breeding sows and boars are made into sausages and pork pies, where the texture and flavour of the meat can be blended and mixed with other products to make it more acceptable.
and ham is from hamsters.
