dancing in the street with mick jagger was not his finest hour...
The Laughing Gnome is genius...

the station to station album is probably my fave, but you can't beat a bit of (v loud) Ziggy Stardust :o)

I worked in a record shop from 1972 to 1977, the laughing gnome song did not see light of day until Bowie had becomke a huge star and was into the Aladin Sane era, then Decca decided to cash in and release the single, he wasn't chuffed as far as i recall.
Anybody else come to look just to see who was posting bowie questions?
maybe, Chuck ;o)
lol chuck....yes I did (shamefaced)
Fully agree re 'Station to Station', though my favourite Bowie track is 'Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed'...
yes i did too, lol

i'm fairly new here but I think I get your drift, though I'm not sure which poster/exposter you are referring to.
Bowie released the laughing gnome in 1967 - it was re-released in 1973.

Everything he did up to and including Diamond dogs was brilliant, then in my opininon when he released Station to Station he sold his fans down the river. I never bought another album of his after Diamond Dogs.

Which I am sure he lost sleep about.
