What, in your considered opinion, is the best Bowie's ever recorded?

For me, I think his 2000 BBC concert is as good as it gets - incredible performance, sublime mix of old standards and new favourites, and the best backing band of his career. And it was a free cd when you bought his BBC sessions collection.

Who????

I can't stand the guy.

However the BBC CD is a good buy but sadly a few songs are omitted from the set list.

He actually played:

Wild Is The Wind
Ashes To Ashes
Seven
This Is Not America
Absolute Beginners
Always Crashing In The Same Car
Survive
The London Boys ********************
I Dig Everything *******************
Little Wonder
The Man Who Sold The World
Fame
Stay
Hallo Spaceboy
Cracked Actor
I'm Afraid Of Americans
Encore

Ziggy Stardust ****************
The Jean Genie (instrumental) ****************
All The Young Dudes ********************
Starman **********************
"Heroes" **********************
Let's Dance

***************those omitted from the CD, why I do not know!!!

Yes fantastic concert. And Yes I was there!!!!!!

However if I had a time machine and could watch him in any of his many guises I would probably opt for 1976, The Station to Staion Tour.

Crisp white shirt, black waistcoat and a cold personae.

"The European Canon is Here!!!!"

It doesn't get much better than that really.
It can't be his best concert if he didn't play Queen Bitch!

I must say though that I saw him on the Serious Moonlight Tour which was EXCELLENT.
Ah Queen B!tch. Yes, a truly excellent song. A little bit of V.U (The Velvet Underground) returned!!!

And of course on the same LP as Bewlay Bros!!!!!!

But he didn't play QB at all on the SM tour!!!

Have you seen Bowie's 50th birtday bash version of QB with Lou Reed ?? It's on youtube. Wah Hay.
Life on Mars is my favourite Bowie song.
All the youbng dudes for me.

Sadly weve seen the best of bowie , like elton john and others his recent work is at best mediocre at worst total rubbish.Fortunately theres a big enough back catalogue to carry them. But their new stuff is dire and not worth mentioning .

H T H ?
Bowie was always crap. He tried to look sullen and smoking but always ended up looking like a shop assistant or a lavatory attendant. Cliff and the Shads on the other hand were way cool.
