Do certain smells remind you of things from the past. I bought smoked bacon yesterday for the first time in years. I was cooking it for OH's breakfast. He came into the kitchen and said "It reminds me of Spain in here" Do certain smell do that to you?

Burning charcoal. Takes me back to the SE Asia where charcoal was the most common cooking method by the locals. Oh for the days of an egg banjo cooked over a little pot of charcoal.

LOL the medicine cabinet in my parents bathroom is a olfactory rollercoaster throughout time! TCP - when I got sick as a kid. Eucalyptic oil for colds, citronella - hot summer day walks. Even opening the cabinet produces a unique aroma of many smells mixed into one.
