philkool - lol.........lots of immigrants consider dogs 'unclean/untouchable' - they would run to the White Cliffs.

Ooops..'White Cliffs' no - change the venue 'Black Country'.

I can't believe this irrelevancy is even being discussed surely there are more important things than the whys and wherefore's of controlling foxes. Has anyone noticed we are up to our eyeballs in broccoli caused mainly by the Noo Labour project?
R1 unless i'm really stupid your quotes are getting wierder and weirder!?

'Has anyone noticed we are up to our eyeballs in broccoli'??
what on earth does that mean?

also Brocolli is lovely, its a great food to eat if your wanting to be healthy (not sure the relevance to fox hunting though?)
I'm assuming that broccoli comment had something to do with the swear filter changing it?
God help us.

anotheoldgit and R1Geezer have had a love-child and he's called Old_Geezer.

Words....fail....me....
No
I wouldn't want fox hunting brought back particularly as I think it's cruel and unnecessary but as Jake says, I'm finding it hard to care much about the issue.
sherminator, for Broccoli read sh1te!
That brought tears to my eyes.
its wrong and pointless, plain and simple. all the arguments to support it are just excuses.

foxes are not vermin. they are only disliked because farmers claime they kill their flock...well there many other much cheaper ways to protect your animals than this...electrified fences, more secure fences, guard dogs etc etc

killing one maybe 2 foxes per hunt is hardly solving a problem...

in fact it would probably be cheaper to hire someone to just sit in your fields and watch for foxes than the money it takes for these hunts!
Nature will not sort out the Fox numbers. Teh problem with Foxes is that the big bush tail makes all the Townies come out in symathy, how some something that lovely be nasty, but just look at the damage loevely foxywoxy does if he gets in a chicken coup. He will not kill one just to eat but will destry the lot. Just one example of why foxywoxy has to be got rid of.

Oh and who really thinks traps and shooting are humane? Some dogs will kill it outright others wont. Some huntsmen are animals themselves but many are not. Shooting is not always a better option. Many people miss and wing the thing.
/// just look at the damage loevely foxywoxy does if he gets in a chicken coup///

Not this old bollo again!

The supreme arrogance and stupidity of human beings is amazing.

Nature creates the fox. A beautiful animal evolved to make a tough living hunting in woodland and moorland.
Nature creates birds. They are good at evading foxes because they can hide or run or fly away.
So the fox only catches birds that are very young, old, sick, injured or stupid.

Along comes human beings, they breed birds that are meals-on-legs or egg-laying machines and can hardly move let alone fly then they trap a huge number in an enclosed space with no way to escape.

When the human being fails to protect the birds they have made so vulnerable and a fox gets in and goes bonkers guess what the human being does - yep he blames the fox.

Brainless.
Not too much to worry about. They had a program on the other night where they were actively encouraging the breeding of more foxes.

Its similar to pheasant shooting where they are bred to reproduce in cages and let free on certain days to act as gun practice.

A rich man's sport?

Rov can you sell them I live in London and I reckon and could trap 10 a night more in breeding season.
a poorly contructred chicken coup is the fault of the farmer, not the fox
Why are folks calling the housing for chickens a 'coup'. I was of the belief it was a 'coop'.
