Anyone watch it? Anyone cry? I did. If I lived in Church Road, Stoke Newington or even in London right now I swear I'd go round and kick that guy in the balls. He just had a pregnant fox and her mate shot dead in "his" garden. It makes me sick. If foxes keep eating his chickens then why doesn't he stop having them or get stronger chicken wire. Trying to be green in the city, but killing wildlife if it gets in his way, hypocritical, bloodthirsty *******. Makes my blood boil!

I watched it, can`t believe that guy had the foxes shot either, He could`ve had them trapped and released them in the countryside, but oh no, Mr Green City Dweller prefered to have them shot all for the sake of his chickens

I hope he and the fat bloke get their arses kicked over this
I don't think you are allowed to trap foxes and let them go in the 'countryside', they are classed as vermin. I think you have to release them in the same place as they are caught. It is unlikely a fox from London could survive in the countryside anyway as their hunting skills are probably lacking - they could well starve to death.

Also they have very strong territories, so if you released them in the territory of another fox there would be major trouble.

Did not see the programme, but I agree it was up to the man who owned the chickens to make them safe. They should have been in a hen coup at night. At least the foxes had a quick end, better than slow poison (not condoning it though).
I got really angry with this. It's obvious that this arse had money so surely the best way to spend his money would have been to build a better chicken home, after killing the foxes the knob didn't even get rid because other foxes came back for their free chicken dinner.
I actully felt sorry for the chickens becuase they were not properly protected.
I know people get quite emotional about urban foxes but they are classed as vermin. Would you feel the same if they had been rats? Which are also vermin. Urban foxes are very prone to mange as was fairly obvious.

Kita he had also tried poisoning them too!!!!
I watched this programme, and it did make me sad. Both sides of the argument are very strong. Yes, they are vermin and a nuisance, and perhaps wouldn't adapt to the "wild". But there are better methods than those t***s used, and it makes me sick that he was so concerned about his poorly-housed chickens that rather than reinforce the structure of the hen house he brought in some loutish oaf to shoot 2 foxes, one of which was pregnant. The whole family was so pretentious-"Oh well we ARE trying to be green". They wouldn't know green if it came and kicked them in the a**e.
I don't agree with the couple who fed the foxes, however at least they had some kind of compassion.

We have ants in the kitchen at the moment (eugh!) and I feel bad enough laying traps for them!

Also, my dog looks a little like a fox, so seeing them hurt made me feel awful.

Seems everyone has valid opinions on this programme.
I saw this last night and knew what was going to happen in the last part so switched off as I knew it would upset me, I love foxes
I too was so upset when the foxes were killed, the one consolation is that they died quickly and probably didn't know a thing, but the cubs inside her probably suffered. Bless the two old geezers who were doing their best to help the foxes and when he was cuddling one, aaaah! Lovely. Thank God for people like them!
i totally agree, it was vile, i dont know how i even watched it, i was surprised they actually showed the shooting, and when they did, i was shocked. the poor foxes were only trying to eat and raise a little family, as for the killer with gun and the twot that hired him, well i cant wirte what i want to put... but as an avid animal lover, some might only guess... ********
They are vermin. Especially town foxes which harbour all sorts of disease which can be transmitted to pets.
I watched it as well and was crying by the end.

I agree that if he wants to be Mr Green and have his own little patch of counrtyside in the city = thats fine but learn to live by the countrysides rules - foxes eat chickens - end of.

Buy a better chicken run instead of a thin bit of chicken wire that will do no good!

He will continue to have the same problem if he carries on the same way....

Made me soooo angry!
We have urban foxes in our neighbourhood ~ and it's for this reason we don't have rabbits or chickens!

I enjoy seeing the foxes in my garden. But that's me :o)
I don't get very emotional these days over anything but watching that program just now was awful. I thought the fox was going to get away which was the only reason I carried on watching. When she fell over dead so suddenly I couldn't believe it and then his partners howl when he realised she was gone made me burst out crying. When he went over to look at her I was so desperate for him to run away and then when they got him too and they were lying there dead next to each other I was so devistated. Nothing has upset me like that in probably years...
Imagine if the tables turned and that mans wife was pregnant and went to the supermarket because she needed to eat well for the babies and then got shot in the head...
How are foxes vermin for eating chickens. WE EAT CHICKENS.
Another two points:
A fox is vermin for eating its prey? But the man is not for shooting it in the head?
Secondly a fox finds chickens and eats them. We cage chickens so packed together that they cannot move and overfeed them until their legs can't take the weight of their bodies... we both eat chickens but out of the two who is vermin when you look at it that way. I'm not an animal rights activist, I eat chicken and love it but I don't go claiming that a fox is vermin for doing what comes natural to it.
If that family calls themselves green for having chickens, therefore making them the better party, why dont they f off to the country and do it properly.
I was sickened by the man and his family acting under a green pretense. Absolutely awful how these people carry on, he paid good money to try and kill the problem rather than take his council's advice - killing them didn't do him any good!! Also the man earlier in the episode that unashamedly lied to his children about where his trapped fox would end up, such a spineless creature. I'd like to see him put down!
That p'!!@ck wouldn't survive five minutes if he actually had to live a truly green lifestyle.
We keep chickens & live just minutes from farmland, there are dozens of foxes where we live, our chickens are in a properly constructed coop not a cheap converted shed & the runs are sturdily built with welded wire mesh not namby pamby chicken wire, when will people learn that chicken wire is made strong enough to keep chickens in but will not keep anything out.
As far as I'm concerned anyone who keeps chickens in a structure like that idiot who had the foxes shot should be given a royal rollicking by the RSPCA, it's flimsy, poorly built & frankly an invitation to any predator to come & get a basket meal.
If I were his supplier I would refuse to sell him any further birds until he had replaced the whole lot or better yet given up his "green" fad & moved on to something more his pace like goldfish.
Yes, it makes my blood boil to.
As the programme indicated , the poor old urban fox has a lifespan of only 15 months - and has been FORCED into town/city areas by road building and construction.
I feel truly privileged that foxes feed on my lawn (side by side with cats and hedgehogs) They NEVER defecate anywhere near my house - they will NOT do that anywhere near their feeding area)
Killing cats is a MYTH - only will take roadkill when starving.
Marmite & peanut butter sandwiches is a cheap and healthy way of feeding them. Raw chicken etc. is great, but you should not put out cooked chicken bones.
Humans are always the aggresors / idiots and animals the ones who suffer.
There are some decent people around as seen in programme - but regret outnumbered by the likes of the (man????) u mention.
So up himself - doesn't see how much he came across as a total moron.
Why doesn't he just buy Burford Brown free range eggs like I do & free range chickens?
Why didn't he mention the rat problem he must have and also inflicting on his long suffering neighbours???
Perhaps he just likes to strangle chickens himself???
Well why didn't he strangle the poor old foxes ? - perhaps he was frightened he might get a scratch.
HE DESERVES what is coming to him.
As for the fat BOVVER BOY he employed to do his dirty work - He spoke for himself - could barely string two words together and pretended to be an expert on fox behaviour. What a joke ----- could only make a living by lying, thieving or killing animals - he's lucky they can't shoot back.
What goes round comes round retard.
