Gosh, Bobs... I bet that didn't go down too well... :-/

Mum and I were staying at the Annabelle in Cyprus and we were out getting trolleyed. Mum slipped and really hurt her ankle so we went back to the hotel and had a drink in the little bar off the lobby. The Waiter kept saying "Tom Jones, Tom Jones" to us. We thought he was taking the pee out of the cabaret act which was pretty grim. The following evening, on our way out, the barman showed us some photos... of my mother and me looking totally monged and Tom Jones standing 5 ft away from us !

We got to finally meet him later on that night.
Even more bizarre on another Latin American trip was that I was again in Chile, but was going on to Mexico and had to change flights in the middle of the night in Peru, flying Aero Peru on the onwards flight. I was very worried that the baggage would not get changed over and sure enough, we landed in Mexico City and no luggage appeared.

Fortunately, I always carried the minimum emergency stuff in hand luggage, having learnt the lesson before. We found out that the luggage would be arriving in two days time on the next AeroPeru flight. I went with a colleague to the airport and went to the AeroPeru office. It was a very small office and there were only two people manning it. To our horror, we found they had both gone to meet the plane and there was no way to get the luggage out.

So my colleague said the only thing we can do is get in and collect it, "Hhave you got your passport?" he said. I had. "OK," he said, "We'll wait until the security police guard is distracted and hop over the security fence via that table against it", which we did.

We then found our way to the hand delivery point where the bags were coming off AeroPeru and I found and collected my bag and walked through security and customs with my passport, hoping they did not notice, I was already booked into the country, so I got two "In" stamps on my passport.

Thankfully they didn't spot it so we walked out as if we had just got off the plane..........

A large drink was consumed soon afterwards!
something really bizarre about 25 years ago, when i was still chasing totty. i had a sort of blind date, she said she was transsexual. i didnt know what this meant, but thought why not meet her, the plan was to get her description, arrange to met her at said place, stand back several yards away, and if dead rough, just turn round and go home. Anyway she turned up, from where i stood she was a too die for blonde. so i went over said hello, and being a little green, didnt see anything strange about her, anyway in the same bar a mate came over as she was going go the loo, and he said what are you doing with that-?? i said what you mean, well its a bloke isnt it? what??
so when she came back i sat closer and cud see the 5 o clock shadow. but said nothing, we had a good night, but didnt meet again
when i say good night, dont get any ideas, just a good old chat, and a laugh
I remember once, Mr Funny and I were out for a drive when a woman broke down in front of us. We, well Mr Funny helped to fix her car whilst me and the lady got talking.
It turned out that she once worked with my Dad in the Post Office.
I was totally gobsmacked what are the chances of that happening.
A guy I work with left the company to travel, he was walking down a street in Townsville in Queensland where he met another chap who had worked at our company a tear previously. We are based in London.
On a trip to wales a few years ago we visited Raglan Castle...I went round it with my Mum as the friend we were with had already seen it... I started to feel a bit odd and all of a sudden my mum asked me why I was walking so oddly.... I replied 'I am trying not to step on the bones.. and suddenly started shaking and had to leave. I don't know if I'd tapped into a patch of negative energy but I suppose a fair number of people would have died defending the castle but I was ok when I got a few miles away.

I certainly wouldn't want to go back there

by the way it was a glorious bright summer day and it is not something that had ever happened to me before
-- answer removed --
went out in bristol, ended up in dorset 3 days later, still to this day i have no idea what happened!
I had gone to Leeds for the weekend on a conference and a friend and I were walking around lost trying to find the way back to where we were staying after a few drinks.

We were in a bit of a dodgy area but there were just a couple of girls walking some way in front of us. I overheard her pronounce Shrewsbury where I come from the posher way and just pronounced it the way I do under my breath (you don't pronounce it the posh way where I went to school haha, well, not without consequences).

I saw one of the girls pause briefly and panicked in case I was about to get battered or something. She then carried on so I relaxed a bit then she suddenly turned, walked back towards me and said she recognised me from junior school, very very wierd as she was quite a few years above me at school and was walking way in front of me that night in the dark!

Award for most bizarre goes to Fluffy.... !
Another one, I used to do a lot of residential volunteering in Southport. I'd been up for a few weeks one summer and was on my way back to Shrewsbury on the train.

I had to change at Chester and got there just before the national silence for Princess Diana's funeral which was on that day.

I bumped into a guy I had volunteered with previously in Southport and kept in touch with, he lived in Scotland but was on on a different voluntary placement and was on his way back from Wales and we completely randomly bumped into each other at Chester station.
When I was 19, I was pursued round the streets of Windsor one summers evening by a group of Japanese tourists, to the sound of numerous camera shutters.

They first saw me as I was walking out of the gates of Windsor castle and I suppose my height, hair colour and the way I was dressed misled them into believing I was someone *very famous* ..........
When i was a taxi driver in the 70s i got a copper to work on time at 5,30am on a sunday morning by breaking the speed limit and the next evening the same copper nicked me doing 42 in a 30mph road cos he had his superintendent in the car. t**ser
