What is the best way to make a cup of tea? Do you put the milk in first or last? Personally, I always put the milk in last, but hey that's just the way Ilike it. ( Sits back and waits for the torrent that is sure to flood in ).

I hate tea!

But when making for others, I tend to put the milk in last.
I put the milk in with the sugar first then add the tea from the pot, or, milk sugar tea bag, hot water. both as good as each other x
This has been up for discussion before and the majority of people said that there is no difference but I always put milk last .I find that if I put milk in first it has a creamy taste and I don't like it so I believe there is a difference.
Milk has to go in first and tea must be from a pot, not a tea bag dipped in cup, suppose we all have our own funny ways of doing things
Hi Wendi, I also like the milk in last. I always make my tea in a teapot . I'm not keen on putting a teabag in a beaker, I find it too strong..
Whatever floats your boat, Osprey.
In a lot of cases the ritual is the best part of a soothing cuppa so, in the words of the song ..................... do it your way.
I put the milk in last as I feel it tastes better that way! Does anyone also find that tea tastes different in different types of cups i.e it tastes much better in china cups than cheap pottery type of cups. Also warming the pot, is that an old wives tale or does it make the tea infuse better perhaps?
By the way, I use evaporated milk in my tea as I cannot stand tea made with ordinary milk. My partner takes his with ordinary milk and thinks mine is disgusting but I have had that ever since I was a child and love it!
Cheers Sue
atsgran - Snob!!! - Got to be from a pot!!! - No to a teabag!!!... I suppose you use a china tea set too!!!
I use the good ol teabag and NO pot, I ain't no snob, common like the majority I am. I put the milk in last if you're interested. That way you can tell how much you will need from the colour of the tea.
Right I'm off for a cuppa.
