Sorry - not an answer, but another question: I am curious as to why any security system should be free. What's the angle and how can you trust it? I bought a MacAvee security centre when I bought my PC. I have assumed this was for good. This is anti-virus, anti-spam and a firewall. Now I find ABers talking about a free one which must be a download installation. How does anyone know the firewall is good for keeping out 'nasties'? I would be grateful if you could enlighten me, please. Thanks.
I was recommended AVG for anti-virus by 4 different sources: a chum who is a computer chappie, the sunday times, the daily telegraph, and a local computer shop. It is free to download and easy to use. However, if you have a problem you need to buy it to get support. However, the pro version is cheaper than Norton or Macafee. I get updates every day. ditto Zone Alarm.
They hope you will buy it eventually. (Zone Alarm recommended by the same people)
Zonealarm is recommende by CompuerActive magazine, I've had zonealarm for years. AVG anti virus, AntiVir anti virus, AdAwareSE, PopUp Killer... all worth it.. and free
