Passports

Does anyone know if it is ok to travel to Tenerife with a passport that will be due to run out a week after returning?  I know some countries require a passport to be in date for 6 months after return.

Our passports will have 4 days short of 6 months left when we return from Italy, and I'm not taking any chances, I'm renewing them. The extra time is now added to your new passports.
