Farewell to you all as I am disengaging myself from this forum. Your questions and responses have made for very interesting reading. When I occasionally participated, I was met with many inflammatory and negative remarks. I will continue to pray for all of you, as I have done since I first logged onto this site. May God bless you and may His Holy Spirit descend upon you like a dove.

The Pope's pronouncement was shocking in its inhumanity and irresponsibility. It's almost impossible to believe that there is anyone who would treat it with anything other than contempt.

But alas, religion being what it is....

(Incidentally Waldo, that king did not try to control the tides. He took his barons down there to demonstrate that he couldn't.)
Re: Cnut; I know! ;-)
Just how does the Pope come to the conclusion that the use of condoms increases Aids? It's clearly completely irrational, but can anyone explain the thinking behind it?
I think the logic is that the threat of catching AIDS acts as a deterrant to "immorality".

This is similar to the logic expressed b those Catholic Schools who have refused to let their girls be innoculated against Cervical cancer.

I hope they are following the Jade Goody Press marathon carefully.

I wonder if they could be prosecuted if one of their charges contracts it in later life
"This is similar to the logic expressed b those Catholic Schools who have refused to let their girls be innoculated against Cervical cancer."

They didn't refuse the treatment. They (one school as far as I know) refused to let the procedure be carried out on school premises due to the risk and side effects.

The Catholic Education Service, has backed the government's campaign against the human papilloma virus.

I think AOGs constant immigrant/muslim sensationalism is rubbing off on you jake.

Ow - that's a low insult being compared to that Cnut anagram.
Leave the pope alone all of you please. Afterall he is respected by millions.

I think so too, Jake, but since there is no justification whatsoever for an educated man who must know the truth to make such a statement, this is totally and utterly dispicable. Indefensibly shameful! What a detestable creature!

If the millions that respect the Pope can't excuse themselves as total idiots, then shame on them for respecting a blatant liar.
I would probably shout out 'Oh God, help me' when in trouble, not because I believe in God but because it's a common word I, and many others use, perhaps wrongly, to express ourselves. It does not mean I believe in a god. I don't. It's simply a cry for help.

Sorry, that was a response to Granny39. Such a weak, overused argument!!
As Anatole France reminds us, Keyplus, "If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing."
One down . . . 49999999 to go . . .
Ok, Leave the pope alone as he was once Hitler's comrade. Is that better?
