I moved home about 5 years ago to another town ( about 3 miles away ). My doctor is brilliant & I didn't know if he would stop treating me if I told him I moved so I haven't! Everytime I had an appointment I lied and confirmed I still lived with my parents at their address. If I tell the doctor I have moved can he strike me off his patients list?

More likely to strike you off for lying not moving! seriously it isnt a problem for my kids and they all live more than 5 miles away.

Ha ha thanks Squitty
When we moved we were told by our surgery that we couldn't continue to use them, and had to transfer.
My son moved to USA 15 years ago and last year needed old medical records for Health Insurance. His old UK GP provided the records and commented that he hadn't seen him for years! Seems the GP had been claiming him as a patient all that time and getting the NHS dosh.
I was told it would only be a problem if I wanted a home visit. Having said that they have been brilliant with my oldies and always came out to them when needed. ( I know we are very lucky here.)
I owned up to my GP having moved 2 years before - he wasn't bothered and told the receptionist I could stay with them. I think if you don't see the doctor very much they are quite happy to 'claim' you.
Yes I think they get paid per person on list not per appointment......so stay healthy.
