What these people fail to see is that this adoption will severely affect these children for life.

And your basis for this is......

It all started (in my opinion) when women were given the vote......
SP, I am trying that now!!) Difficult, ain't it :o)
"Like rubbing your stomach whilst patting your head at the same time."

What you lot get up to in your own bedrooms is your business. But a house that indulges tummy-rubbing-head-pats is no environment to bring up a child.

And that's my considered opinion. End of.
LOL Quinlad!!
goodness, is this thread still thundering on? Let me guess: 95% of the anti-gays are male. (And the sort of people who handle somewhat less than half their own child-rearing duties.) Call it intuition.
LucyThomas5 - please read the news article before you comment. The children are currently with foster parents. Why have the grandparents suddenly become interested in bringing them up?

As sp1814 saus, we cannot know the reasons why Social Services have made their decisions because they are not allowed to release that information, whereas the grandparents can tell the Daily Mail any old sh1t and it will be published.

eltilioni - I suggest you should also read the article.

The children were taken into foster care while the court case went on.

Can you honestly see any court placing children with a couple who were in the process of challenging the decision not to allow them to adopt? Really?

They only conceded defeat when they were harshly told if they did not give up their fight they would never see the children again.
Quite honestly, after reading quite a few of the articles, none of us know really why this child was taken into foster care or why the decision has been made for them to be adopted outside of the family.

Apparently, the children have been virtually brought up by the grandparents. I know lots of children who are being brought up by their grandparents and there has been no social service intervention whatsoever. Something has to be wrong within that family. I may be wrong, but it seems that the mother still lives with the grandparents.

Social Services have only said that it was health issues which prevented the grandparents from having the children. Perhaps this is being kind to the grandparents! Perhaps if Social Services were to give the real reasons the grandparents and mother might not be so pleased.
They might well regret in time that they have been to the press if the true facts are revealed.

I totally disregard any comments from the Catholic Church!!

We just don't know! Let's wait and see.

I am not touching on the subject of gay adoptions with this posting.
flip-flop - I stand corrected. It is all very odd.
