This question attracted very much interest when posted earlier.

It has now been reported that a millionaire is to fund legal services on behalf of the Grandparent.

Peter Hitchins sums the whole matter up regarding how we are now expected to accept homosexuality, regardless of one's personal feelings.

This is just my opinion, and I would be happy to be shouted down, but...

A paedophile is a peadophile. Whether they're attracted to a child of their own, or the opposite sex is irrelevant. A male paedophile who is attracted to litte boys is a paedophile first and foremost.

Same with a male paedophile who is attracted to little girls. You don't think of him as 'straight'. You think of him as a paedophile.
Excellent point, SP. Paedophiles are a breed apart. Well said.
Did somebody mention me ? :o)

AOG - A paedophile is a paedophile. Some are attracted to boys, some are attracted to girls. It may suit your argument to try and make out that these men are homosexual but I think you'll find that fewer of these men would identify themselves as 'gay', than you imagine.

Mani - Martin will come creping back out of the closet at some point. His will-power may still be strong but eventually the 'pull' of his true self will prove to be stronger than the affirmation of his 'Christian' friends. Was this the chap that you and others clubbed together in order to provide him with a prostitute ?
How did this get onto gay paedophiles anyway? The grandparents were the ones judged not to be suitable parents.
Forget the red herring of Gay parents.....Everybody seems to have missed the point, these children have been taken away from loving grandparents to go and live with strangers. Excuses given were the grandparents age and the fact that they have diabetes and Angina.
It should make you all worry as many people with children have diabetes, many again have Angina in their forties and fifties, many parents are only having children in their forties. Are the children of these people in danger of losing their children because some social service has to fill targets for the year. Grandparents are an important part of family life and today I read that notices are being given out in some areas b to encourage people to tell social services if they think that the children in a house near them, actually belong to the people in the house. It does not mention that it is legal for grandparents to care for their children's children. So if you interfere and report, you could save a life but you could interfere and report and put another set of Grandparents in the same position. It is sad that Britain has come to this!
Sukkie - sorry but where did you get all the above information from?

As far as I am aware, the social services have not said anything.

So presumably you are hearing purely one side of an issue and taking that to be fact?

And the first line of that article is exactly why I never read the Mail.
Mani

I feel that he could be a real inspiration for the gay community

Doubtful, very doubtful.

I read a poll in Attitude a couple of years ago where the following question was posed:

"If you could take a pill to make you straight tomorrow, would you take it".

It was something like 90% who said "No".

Maybe the other 10% would indeed find your friend's story inspirational, but at the end of the day, it's like a brunette woman wishing to be a blonde. She can bleach her hair as long as she wants, but eventually, the roots will start peeking through.
Hello Jack, you heeded the call! Thought you might. :o)(How's your son?).
Mani Hussain - ... Martin was cured from same sex attraction disorder a few years ago through an exorcism.

... one of his happiest memories as the moment he felt the demons being removed.

Errr, I'm sorry?

Did you just say that 'demons' left Martin's body by way of 'exorcism'? Sorry to be the one to point this out to you Mani, but the year is 2009 AD.

We are no longer living in the middle ages. We no longer use techniques such as trepanning and bloodletting.

Exorcism...?

The mind boggles.
What's worrying is where the demons went when they were driven out. Did they, perchance, invade a herd of swine? Can't have gay pigs rushing about the place; think of the poor piglets.
If gay people are infested by demons they are bound to say they don't want to be cured aren't they? What I don't understand is, what's in it for the demons?
Mani, out of interest, who did you get to perform this 'exorcism'? I wouldn't have thought the church would do such a thing because someone was gay.
If Martin's happy now then he's happy, there was a bloke who died recently who wrote numerous books on the fluctuating nature of sexuality.
I think if someone has decided they're not gay after trying it they should be left in peace after all many people who think they're straight decide otherwise, same meat different gravy (although I would'nt thin too closely on that analogy, eww) I would'nt have thought exorcism was the way to do it though.
Demons?
Oh dear.
naomi - He's fine. Thankyou for asking.

Mani - You have found it perfectly ok to press me over my sex-life on these pages............
And you have mentioned 'buying' a prostitute for a friend on these pages, in the past.
Very pleased to hear it, Jack.

I remember Mani buying a prostitute for a friend too, but I can't remember if it was for Martin. I really would like to know where the exorcist came from, though. That's intriguing.

Mani, I do hope you're coming back.
