Does potato count as one of our five a day?
And baked beans?

baked beans arent classed as a vegetable,and i havent seen the potato on the five a day list but i could be wrong!!!

That's what I thought but I swear I saw on my tin of Somerfield own brand baked beans that it counted towards our 1 of 5 a day!

I'm not at home now so can't check again....
i thought beans counted!
Potatoes don't count - they are classified as carbohydrate cos they're starchy.

Baked beans do count but only as one portion, no matter how much of them you eat.

Hi, I am a dietitian and I can confirm that potatoes (regardless of the type) do not count as one of your five a day. They are classified as being a starchy food. Baked beans however do count! All beans count towards your five a day!
