I got in from work at about 6.30pm, and could hear music in my (empty) house. after a thorough search I realised it was coming from the house next door. I tried to ignore it but after half an hour of the music being louder than my tv, I knocked on the door and asked very nicely if it could be turned down a little bit. the man said he couldn't hear it but it must be his daughter upstairs.

about half an hour ago I actually banged on the wall! it stopped for about 10 minutes.. and started again.

I know it's not late but I'd really like to unwind, and I'm feeling very wound up! I was thinking about putting some music on and really blasting it.. but I really just want some peace.

advice please.....

what you need is some macc ladds
Noise invasion is a dreadful thing & one that should be taken very seriously. I suggest you look up your local Council's website & see what they say under Health & Enviroment. They will probably suggest you keep a log of the dates, time, duration of the noise (unfortunately over a period of months) & you could also ring on Monday just to check you're doing what they require to prosecute. You're not a grumpy old bag at all - just one stressed out lady wanting to enjoy her home after work. Been there, done that & there's nothing worse than having your sanity driven to breaking point. My neighbours, now moved thank God, had a son who blared music out for hours as soon as they left the house. The Dad's solution was to give me the garage keys & permission to throw the fuses. As much as you may want to retaliation with noise doesn't really work & gets out of hand - SO tempting to do I know but not a good idea.
Stick a bit of Marylin Manson in as well then.

sara3, if you dont have des o'connor can we please both live happily ever after, have you ever heard him 'sing' its like having your back teeth pulled without anaesthetic. absolutetly excruciating. makes the abvsolutely awful max bygraves look like pavaroti.
