Clebersod's 'reversing' post made me nod in agreement and then I was thinking.... Why do we all take such pride in being "busy and stressed"? I listen to my friends, and even myself, talk about all the things we are doing, have done and will be doing as if we are trying to one up each other with who is the most stressed out.
If you tell someone you spent a Sunday lolling around in your PJs they act as if you committed a crime. When did it become a badge of honor to be so stressed?
That's a good and valid question EngTeach. I know what you mean but I feel guilty if I'm not doing something. I feel as if I almost have to apologise for slopping around doing nothing but I can't tell you why.
I'm not proud of being stressed - I don't discuss it but it's almost as if it's expected nowadays.
Hi EngTeach, hope the US is being good to you, I don't do stressed, sometimes I think if I am any more laid back I will fall over, or so my wife says, but I do tend to not worry, think I am one of the lucky ones, cos I let it all wash over my bonce (head to you) so take it easy, take some time to smell the roses and enjoy the beautiful world, will be coming over to New York later in the year (I hope) love that crazy place, take care.Ray
Best way to be Knobby, nothing worth getting stressed about, take it as it comes and enjoy your life, let the others worry, I won't get ulcers. take it easy mister.
I have spent the day doing sod all! My housemate kept telling me to go out and do something but I just enjoy chilling! She is always running around like a headless chicken...and tries to make me feel guilty for sitting doing nothing
I don't mean I don't do housework etc but she has a horse, dog and a useless boyfriend!!
