Au
As Kev says, Au is the chemical symbol for gold. This derives from the latin name for gold, aurum. Other elements may have obvious symbols, such as O for oxygen, C for carbon, I for iodine, and so on. But many elements in addition to gold have symbols derived from their classic or latin names: Na for sodium (natrium), Fe for iron (ferrum), K for potassium (kalium) and others.
