please can any one tell me, i have 3 female platies and one male, tried to breed from them but i dont get anything they have been together for about three months, the older one did have young, but that was ages ago, these are the only ones in the tank. any info would be great, i am a beginner. cheers.

Maybe they are having the babies but they're getting eaten before you see them.
Maybe worth adding one more male although platies are usually very prolific.
I agree that they probably are being eaten. Do you have any plant life where the babies can hide until they get a little larger.

tob, i have plenty of places for the fry to hide ornate castle and rocks, sunken woods, but i think the male platy might be a bit young, but he is allways chasing the females, may be the females are to old, i just dont know but i am still hoping. cheers for the answer. ray.
