hi, i previously asked a question about blackmoors, i have 2 and have converted my tank into a tropical one. so far i have bought 4 female guppies (to eliminate the chanced of breeding and the moors eating the young). can anyone suggest some other fish that would live happily with my fish? im new top tropical fish keeping so i dont want anything that is overly difficult to keep. thanks :-)

Any of the live bearers are ok with each other. platys and swordtails come in lovely colours and the ratio is best as one male and 2 or 3 female. A couple of corydorus catfish will eat all the food dropped to the bottom of the tank and so keep it clean. zebra danios and leopard danios are also an interesting fish to watch, you will need a small shoal of these, say a dozen or so to start with. Most fish suppliers usually sell multiples at a discounted price, like 12 for 10.
Neons, White Cloud Minnows, Head & Tail Lights are also good for a community tank. Also a Loach who helps to keep the glass clean by eating any algae that forms.
btw. you can get some of those beautiful male guppies too. The females you bought are more than likely already pregnant and once insemenated, are able to store sperm for more than one lot of fry without the presence of a male.

The other livebearesrs will probably have young too so why deprive yourself from having some of those lovely male guppies. If you have a lot of live plants some may even survive to the stage where they are too big to be swallowed, although all goldfish have a big gob and are greedy sods.
