Having seen, so will be done, in times to come.
If I understand your question in its entirety, you seem to believe the word desolate does not appear in Luke's account of this scene. However, a review of Luke 13:35 does include the same word... at least in my NIV translation...
My King James Bible also has the word 'desolate' in both Matthew & Luke.
This verse refers to the future destruction of Jerusalem and prophecies that both the temple, in which the Jews placed great confidence, and their own dwelling-houses, would be destroyed, burnt and razed down. This is what ultimately happened. (circa 70AD).
In the AV the verse begins with the words 'Behold' which usually means that something amazing is going to be said. The verse refers to the future destruction of Jerusalem and prophecies that both the temple, in which the Jews placed great confidence, and their own dwelling-houses, would be destroyed, burnt and razed down. This is what ultimately happened. (circa 70AD).
