The idea of paying Wagner to fight for Ukraine has one major drawback: Wagner are still loyal to Ruzzia. Interestingly, there's evidence Ukrainian special forces have been sabotaging Wagner assets in Africa. Wagner in fact isn't the only private armty used by Putin: there is another prominent one whose name always escapes me.

Until we get over the nonsense of being scared to "poke the Bear" too hard, this will simply drag on and on.

A 10th Russian SU34 jet or similar "zhisneno'ed" today by Ukraine: that's in the space of barely a fortnight, and doesn't include the second A50 which Russia claim they accidentally downed themselves over the Azov Sea the other day.

OK forget Wagner, though most of those guys don"t care who they fight as long as they get the dough.    To OGs point, there are many other mercenary groups and the West could simply give Ukraine some more money and they could pay for the help 'themselves'.

Napoleon Complex. Move along now.

It's an interesting idea: I think I'd be more in favour of some sort of "international brigade". There is the Georgian legion, of course.

Thanks khandro: good news. Despite all the doom and gloom in the press, there is every evidence that we are indeed in this for the long haul. Someone remarked that since the downing of the last A50 early warning asset there have been no missile attacks on Ukraine.
