A bit of advice from Martin Lewis: The cheapest time to get car insurance is around 20 to 26 days before you want the policy to start.

Also, never 'auto renew'.

Direct line own Churchill as I found out a while ago.  Churchill are on the comparison sites and I found their quotes to be similar to Direct line.
