Storm Babet is alive and well.  Can't remember the last time we had a storm like this.  Luckily I live on high ground and have never had a problem with flooding.

//A Met Office warning for the North-East of Scotland has been extended as Storm Babet batters the country.

Residents in the flood path in Brechin have been ordered to leave, with councillors going door-to-door and a severe flood warning about to be put in place for the South Esk River area.//

Indeed, don't any of you go if conditions are poor .

Thanks Annea - don't intend to go anywhere tbh, the dogs were out during the calm and luckily we have a very large garden for them - so apart from flying on Tuesday when it should be burnt out by then

Stay safe across there won't you.

I'm suprised any of you know if you are coming or going during Babet. On ITV news last night we are told that the inhabitants of certain areas d in Scotland should evacuate their homes. Next we hear the illustrious leader of the SNP urging people to stay put. If it wasn't so tragic ,serious and sad I could hardly stop a laugh. Talk about indecisive

I haven't been on social media or the news and had no idea of the awful conditions that others are experiencing.  We have persistent heavy rain, but thankfully no real damage done and no loss of life.  I feel for those who have been/are suffering.

Had to go out for a hospital appointment this morning and drove through a "pond" where two roads meet. Drove at a crawl unlike the driver of the double decker coming in the opposite direction! Just read that we've had more rain in the past 24 hours than we normally have in a month.  A9 between Aberdeen and Dundee was closed because of flooding but may be open again as the rain seems to be easing off a bit.  Wish the wind would too!

Oh, don't go out again Maggie unless you must .

^That's incredible!

Is that actually possible?

Forgive me for asking...I guess with so much controversy over AI, I'm questioning it. Would you let your dog walk on that? It looks like quicksand, but isn't.

From the set of Cobra, series 3?

Weird!

As the ground is so soggy, it seems all the roots from the trees are lifting, strong winds too? I was a bit doubtful too, when saying the dog walk over that dangerous area. AI? Could be. How easy it will be to fool us all...

I don't trust what I see anymore.

Thanks for link Roy. Looks genuine.

What idiot has a dog out in those conditions. ?

This idiot if you have the guts to tell him, do so.
