Just heard from my mum that the street party in George Square in Glasgow has apparently been called off due to the gales (not sure about Edinburgh yet) and I just wondered how many ABers would still venture out in such weather. Would torrential rain and howling gales spoil your new year celebrations , or would you happily jump about in the puddles to count in the bells ? Personally , i'm happy to be tucked away inside - especially going on the crashing and banging about which I can hear outside from the stormy weather. My lights are flickering every few seconds and I keep getting the Sky message that no signal is being received. So what's the weather like where you are and would you risk life and limb for a party ?

Oh you're kidding Philtaz. What a shame. What a letdown for all those who were looking forward to a good show but it makes sense for public safety. I was reading on the BBC news page that the gales were so strong that they were knocking over the safety barriers so they were forced to cancel it. I guess it was for much the same reason in Edinburgh. My friends is staying at her boyfriend's house in Stirling tonight which is near the castle and she had hoped to watch the fireworks with him but I guess they've had it since Stirling's event has been cancelled too.

Zorro - Sounds like you've had a good afternoon all the same and you probably had the right idea. Celebrate early to avoid the late night numpties and bad weather. Can you still bite your lip though ?!! The highlight of my night is going to be watching Still Game and Only An Excuse with a few Bacardi Breezers , a bit of shortbread and some Madeira cake. How sad is that ?!!
i have to go out tomorrow morning and find my wheelie bin, went out about an hour ago to check, but its gone
i would be angry, but still game made me laugh so hard, i nearly ****** ma sel!

Horny Iza making a beeline for Tam. Nearly choked on my Breezer ha ha. That's more of her than I needed to see !!! What about the neds at the lift ? Saw that one coming. Oh and Winston peeing in the lift. Ewwwwwwww. No wonder Iza didn't surrender her handbag though. I wouldn't have either. I love Still Game.

If you live in East Kilbride and it's a blue bin you're sorted. It nearly put my window in but I won't hold it against you. Just make sure you uplift it by teatime or i'll give it a hefty boot on it's way !!!
