Top Tories are already jostling for position as Election defeat looms.
The party is not thinking of ousting Sunak ahead of polling day.
But too many Tory MPs are starting to see losing the GE as inevitable.
Most Tory MPs think it is too late and not enough time is left to put things right in the Party. or the Country. Penny Mordaunt, James Cleverly, Kemi Badenoch and Steve Barclay are the top five so far,and even Suella Braverman has the nerve to be considered . My money will be on Mordaunt.

Yes indeed, Gulliver.
Even that article says that she says she was in the navy reservists, which is true so not lying??
Who said she was lying?
She signed up after she became the Tories candidate, months before she was elected for the constituency.
But she hasn’t done much reserve service if any.
And what service hav you given, Gromit?
What has that got to do with anything DTC?
I am not jostling to lead the Conservative Party.

Who is Richi Sunak?
> No surprise Gulliver wants Mordaunt. She would be a disastrous choice.

What, worse than Truss? Come on, everybody and their dog knew that Truss was going to be a disaster, ever since pork markets and cheese. But the Tory electorate choose Truss over Shapps, Hunt, Javid, Zahawi, Badenoch, Mordaunt, Sunak, Braverman and Tuggendhat ... what a mistake-a to make-a.

Of course, for the next election, after Boris is spiked Sunak by sending his filtered unfiltered WhatsApp messages to the enquiry, the main jostling is for the big beast himself ...
Ellipsis, I didn’t say worse than Truss. I wouldn’t have voted for either of them.

I did not but she is misrepresenting her supposed role as a High ranking Regular has disclosed in the link and copied below.

//Last night, a highly-decorated former senior Royal Navy officer said: ‘She isn’t [currently] a trained or paid reservist, she’s never qualified or been commissioned. She’s been banging the naval drum for days and enough is enough. How she has presented herself – and how she has allowed herself to be presented – have been deeply misleading.’

Miss Mordaunt signed up as a Royal Naval Reservist in 2010. She was made an honorary commander in 2019 and an honorary captain last year. But she has not served on an operational deployment. She does not currently fulfil the Royal Naval Reserve’s training commitments or receive a salary, as her entries to the MPs’ interests register confirm. //
If you look at her posing in a RN uniform she is wearing the rank cuff titles of a regular Navy Commander. She is not a regular RN officer.

She describes herself as an Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve officer. The RNVR are known as 'The Wavy Navy because of the rank cuff insignia have undulating lines and not straight lines on their cuff titles as in the Regular RN officer ranks.
Please check out the link and note the RNVR Officer cuff title below for Commander and Captain rank.
Nothing like the cuff insignia she poses in which is incorrect.

You work it out who is lying.I am not.

I think you have been watching too many James Bond films.
The name is Cop..Retrocop.
She can wield a good sword ... and she had a stab at diving off a 10 metre board, which I would have liked the other Tory leadership candidates to have tried ...
does it really matter if penny mordaunt embellished her navy career a bit?
Everyone's getting ahead of themselves, aren't they? It's like a panel of sports pundits; Who's gonna win this one then? Sheesh!
I've amended your comment, Gulliver1. Play the ball, not the player.

Ed LOL.
If she was made an honorary captain then doesn't this apply, taken from Navel dress code?

" b. An Officer holding such an appointment or honorary rank is authorised to wear the
current uniform, rank insignia, accoutrements and accessories applicable to that
appointment or rank."
Vulcan
Does wearing the insignia of a Regular serving Commander or Captain contravene the Naval Dress code when she is a RNVR honorary Commander or Captain. Her photographic pose is in the uniform of a Regular commissioned officer and NOT a wavy navy RNVR honorary officer. She appears to be misrepresenting her honorary status.
Retrocop, An interesting point. I think the key word in all this is honorary. Does an honorary rank supersede a voluntary reserve rank? I can find nothing in the naval dress code regarding this. The navy may be different but in the RAF a voluntary reservist wears exactly the same uniform as a regular officer with the exception of VR on the collar. I'm assuming she joined the naval reserve and then made an honorary captain which entitled her to wear the normal uniform. Again, I can find nothing in the Kings regulations so my assumption could well be wrong.
