The problem is Russia seems to jump from one "Dictator" to another even with revolution.
i hope not.. the last one didn't go terribly well

Reports suggest that the incursion from Ukraine consists entirely of Russians and non-west-supplied weaponry.
So Jake Sullivan can sleep easy.

As for the population of Belgorod, half are fleeing and the other half sitting tight with vodka and salo and waiting for liberation :-)

It will take a time to the end of Putin but this is good news for decent Russians who love their country.

The situation regarding the "incursion" is not at all clear.
The Kremlin announced it had "destroyed" all the "saboteurs" who it is still calling "Ukrainian", but although pictures emerged of destroyed rebel vehicles at a border post, plainly this is not the case.
There were attacks on Belgorod town - it's not clear who by, and there have been further incursions - also into Kurst oblast.
