I mentioned living in other European Countries.
I did not mention the EU . Are you aware there is a EU and a Europe.
if your british and living in an eu country, your will always be considered a foreigner more or less, i have noticed in the states it;s not so, they like the british, plus in the states english is the first language..
//Are you aware there is a EU and a Europe.//

Indeed I am. But apart from the micro-states and possibly Switzerland, there is nowhere that would suit me. Five of the non-EU European countries are EU candidate nations meaning they are striving to be like the current 27 members. Switzerland is currently being bullied into signing an "EU-lite" agreement which would mean they would be largely EU members without the vote. Andorra would be a bit like living in the Khyber Pass, Iceland is too cold, Liechtenstein would not let me in. Of the rest, those that are not at war are too close to Russia.
Doesn't TTT realize they risk life and limb to get to the UK for the benefits they will receive for the rest of their lives ? I doubt it's because of British society and way of life. As for pandering to young kids who won'tcan't learn English in school and having all those translators.........it's utterly ridiculous. My family immigrated to Spain when I was 12, I was put in the local school and was fluent in Spanish within 6 months or less.

Samuraisan, how many other countries spend so much on translators for people who have no intention of learning the language of where they want to live, not many I think. I have always thought that if you live somewhere then you should at least learn enough for everyday use. Even these days I still learn a bit of the language of where I am going to be able to have a chat and be polite. I do know people in Spain who dont' speak any of the language.
samurasian: "Doesn't TTT realize they risk life and limb to get to the UK for the benefits they will receive for the rest of their lives ?" - well yes but the 5C are always telling be that the benefits are better in the EUSSR so that can't be it.
The benefits for illegal immigrants are certainly not better here in Spain. Nothing like in England. They are put in immigration centres, not sure if locked in, but wouldn’t be surprised, but once out are put to work in agriculture. Some do sell handbags and whatnot, but probably the ones that didn’t get caught.
Samuraisan: There an enormous leak into the EU through Spain. Anyone getting into Cueta on Africa's coast is in Spanish territory, they only then have to make the short crossing into Spain & are allowed in by the Spanish Socialist government. Their objective, at least for most of them, isn't Spain itself, but to move to other parts of Europe with the UK as the ultimate place to be because there, the rewards are the greatest.
//^ You do live in Sutton though :)//

//Oops sorry, think that might have been Retrocop//

Indeed I do since 1980. Before that I lived in Colliers Wood where the Brixton riots found their way through Balham to Tooting Broadway and stopped about 100yds from my front door. My wife was expecting our first child and we lived no more than 75 yards from a primary school. We decided to up sticks and move to Sutton where the local primary/high school would be more suitable for our son's education
