Lineker tweeted "language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s", Goebbels in 1993 referred to the entry of foreign workers into Germany as an "invasion" that would lead to the displacement of German workers. For me, I don't care - after all, Boris actually described the EU as "Nazis", not even "1930s Germany", and Braverman said nothing about that!

Lineker can say what he likes, he's only a football pundit - he will not change a single person. In other words, if you didn't think the Tory rhetoric was like 1930s Germany, he won't change you. Opinions are like anuses, we all have one - me, you and Gary Lineker.
Whatever way you dress this up it is not an invasion.
an invasion usually denotes hostile intent on the part of the "invaders" ... the purpose then as now is to convince people that they are being endangered and need to defend themselves against a whole group of people

lineker was quite right.
For me, it doesn't matter what he said. It doesn't matter what Alan Sugar says. It doesn't matter what Jeremy Clarkson says. They can say what they like, and you can think of them based on what they say. They have their opinions, you have yours. Everybody has an opinion.

News journalists have to be more careful, especially on the BBC but also on other news outlets too - mixing facts with opinion, fake news, post-truth, propaganda ... all are obstacles in making people's opinions based on the facts.
If it ain't an invasion what is it?
TBF it's given brexit a rest!

When Goebbels referred to the entry of foreign workers into Germany as an "invasion" that would lead to the displacement of German workers, in 1933 ... whatever word he should have used then ... you can use here now.
Have a day off, just because the Nazis used a word back then does not mean using it again makes one a Nazi.
The Jewish Chronicle isn’t praising him - and yes, over 31,600 people arriving illegally on our shores last year just up until September is an invasion.
And if he had tweeted he was in full support of the government's policy?
then a few people would have gotten angry on twitter and that would have been that
