We are now approaching a new year,2023 and many people are wondering if the coming months will bring better things.

Do you see the world as badly in need of reliable direction?. Politicians clamoring for public support promise much but leave shattered hopes behind them.
Half truths and outright falsehood have become the world’s stock in trade, and it has corroded relations in business and among neighbors and family members. The result is that many become cynical and say they do not believe anyone.

And those who turn to the religions of the world do not find a much brighter prospect. Religious teachers do not agree among themselves, nor do they teach what the Bible say or agree with the Bible, which they say is filled with ‘fables’ and statements that are ‘not historically accurate.’

All these quotes - and I didn't know Jesus even spoke English.
Goodlife, I can’t imagine where you got ‘millions’ from - something else you’ve invented - but you may rest assured I know the difference between Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons.
\\ I think you are referring to the Mormons.//
When did the Mormons start handing out the watchtower?
I don't know what I should believe. What do you believe goodlife?
Good life – yes .I do get confused sometimes ?trying to work out some of the scriptures .which is trying to tell me, But as a hard and reader of the holy writings .I do try to learn as much as possible -And to answer the question of some of your readers .I've had many contacts with Jehovah's Witnesses and I found them very understanding and reliable they will try to answer any --yes any answer to which the person is giving them a a question .And not a ridiculous .yes not ridiculous suggestion .Anything to do with the Bible even if they don't know the answer? they will tell you they will come back with an explanation? and then the person can can work out his problem with the suggestion that the Witnesses will give them ?,, Matthew 10 -11-15.????????
:ocust, //Anything to do with the Bible even if they don't know the answer? they will tell you they will come back with an explanation? //

And if you asked me I'm likely to come back with a different explanation. Which of us is right - and why?
Is it the JW who believe in 'The Elect'?
Most of us are doomed, apparently, and a few will live forever in a land flowing with milk and honey.

Where can you find assistance in understanding the Word of truth.
Do not put your trust in princes Nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation. His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish. Psalm 146:3-4 That show you do not go to heaven or hell.
And even the most capable leaders will eventually die. Furthermore, they cannot guarantee that any of their good works will be continued by those who come after them.—Ecclesiastes 2:18, 19.

Jeremiah 10_23 says I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.
The evidence should be clear to all who can see the truth and understand the Bible that,
Man’s record of governing himself independent of God has been a dismal failure! It has resulted in untold human suffering. “Man has dominated man to his injury,” as the Bible says.—Eccl. 8:9
Again the Bible was written for spiritual people and only they can understand the Bible .(Matthew 5-3)
Our two main bible quoters have learned a simple lesson.

Almost any question anyone can ask about God and faith can be answered with a bible quote - it's a long book, there is plenty to go at.

But the bible has nothing more than logevity on its side in terms of being used as a 'truth'.

On that basis, in another two thousand years, the Scientologists will be able to trot out Mr Hubbard's words with the same solemnity, his have actually only been around since 1955, so that makes him a novice in this area.

Now personally, I think Mr Hubbard's views are like the rest of his writing - science fiction - but why should he be believed any less simply because he has made up his ideas within living memory?
goodlife - // Man’s record of governing himself independent of God has been a dismal failure! It has resulted in untold human suffering. “Man has dominated man to his injury,” as the Bible says.—Eccl. 8:9 //

You can't in all conscience say that man dependent on God has really done any better, if you look at history.

// Again the Bible was written for spiritual people and only they can understand the Bible .(Matthew 5-3) //

There's that undeserved sense of superiority you quoters love to trot out - in fact your God is supposed to love all his creation, not just those like you who look down on people you think don't deserve his love like you think you do.
Goodlife, would you care to have a go at my question at 11:56 Thu?
Naomi 24 05 Jan 20023 Which of us is right - and why?
LOCUST - yes we all need help ? Act .8,30.“Do you actually know what you are reading ? . yes I've had to humble myself.. in the thinking of my mind and re-just my thinking ?.because after I've had a discussion with one of Jehovah's Witnesses - we discussed from the Bible .yes from the Bible .? what it really meant . And took out time to meditate ? on what it is saying ?Because I did not understand - what it was saying ? and by using the cross references from The Bible: to get a better knowledge of what it is trying to say ,yes we all need help to come to an understanding.. just like the Ethiopian in the scriptures he was reading the Bible but he would not get right information . (understanding).Do you really take out time to think about what you are. Reading. Or are you a speed reader and forget most of what you've read
Locust, no, I don’t forget most of what I’ve read.
So Fervents - Any comments on my comparison between Scientology and your versions of Christianity?

Both based on written teachings by someone who is no longer with us - only the time difference to think about.

Unless you think differently?

Is never a waste of time talking about the truth because the same situation happened back in Ezekiel time. Jehovah’s Witnesses remember God’s words to Ezekiel when He first commissioned the young prophet to preach to his Jewish compatriots: “As for them, whether they listen or refuse to listen—for they are a rebellious house—they will certainly know that a prophet was among them. (Ezekiel 2:5)

Like Ezekiel, we keep telling people about godly peace whether they respond or not. If they listen, we are thrilled. If they turn their backs on us, mock us, even persecute us, we persevere. We love Jehovah, and the Bible says: “Love . . . endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:4, 7) Because we preach with endurance, people know who Jehovah’s Witnesses are. They know our message. When the end comes, they will know that.
locust, system or world end . and in the time of those Prophets. for instant - Noah ,world. ended .prophecy of the in the end - kings and dictator . and jews would come to their end .the fall of Jerusalem .Would be surrounded by the romans .would be captured .There are many more prophecies like this which has been written down for our benefit .And can be proven by archaeology for many people criticise and say this is just miss because they cannot look forward to the future and they talk of the Bible being a book of fiction .many more prophecy Daniel.11 .35 Matt,24.22. Mark 13 20 . 2 Cor 4.4 Day of reckoning is coming be assured
(2 Thess. 1:7-9.)
