I’ll tell you: Thatcher gone within days, May lasted 5 and a half months.
Major survived his but lost the election the following year.
So how do you think May and Thatcher subsequently went?
See if you can work it out for yourself?
I’ll give you some pointers though.
None of them were ever mired in the same controversy as Johnson, none broke their own laws in office, none had to fight off a scandal on a weekly basis, none saw a by election result as catastrophic as the record breaking one last night.
Now tell me how long you think Johnson will last before he’s pushed?
Remember too that there are a plethora of current and old Tories calling for him to resign.
