In the book, Treasure Island, the black spot was a sign from your piratical colleagues that they'd had enough of you.
Patronising.
A fellow pirate.

I'ts hard to understand someone like Boris to reach such high office then go on to destroy it all in such a short time. He's actually responsible for wrecking not only himself put the rest of the con party.
Another Confidence Vote cannot be held until a year after the last one. What other mechanisms are there to remove him?
12.57 Do what Boris does, change the rules, simple.

His cabinet are being urged by their own to commit regicide.
They know it’s either that or face annihilation at the next General Election, the top bods have been saying so this morning.
But I’m sure you already knew that.
No, Fatti, I didn't actually.

What form might that 'regicide' take is what I'm asking.

Could his cabinet colleagues shame him into going?
Just a thought.

Lankeela, not everyone knows the book.
Boris doesn't do 'shame', haven't you noticed?

From Sky News.

Former Tory leader says for first time that Boris Johnson should go
Former Tory leader Michael Howard has, for the first time, called for Boris Johnson to go.
Lord Howard told the BBC's The World At One: "The party and more importantly the country would be better off under new leadership."
While Conservative MPs are not able to oust Mr Johnson in a no-confidence vote for another 11 months, it has been suggested - and history shows - the cabinet could make the prime minister's position very difficult.
Lord Howard continued: "Members of the cabinet should very carefully consider their position."

I'm sure they could make his position very difficult. Trouble is, he's a bit of an expert in difficult situations and employs a somewhat 'bulldozer' approach to them. I can't see it being easy.

Ok, I’ll spell it out in simple terms.
Cabinet ministers have a choice. If they want the top job they need to resign now and cause the dam to break. That will empower the party to pull Johnson to one side and tell him to fall on his sword.
That way the cabinet minister who resigned before getting too tarred and tainted with the Johnson hallmark has a chance in the leadership vote.
It’s a domino effect, if one cabinet minister goes then others will feel impelled to jump ship post-haste and Dave their own careers and safeguard future ambitions.
Michael Howard has just put the position clearly.
*Dave?? SAVE!

But it IS easy. Only takes one cabinet minister to pull the plug, then it’s all over, the music will quickly stop.
Pull the plug? What plug is this?
