If the British voters made the other decision ... nothing much would have happened. If the Ukrainian people make the wrong decision ... they will die, their families will die, their children will die. They will die in the most horrific way. To try to score Brexity points by making any comparison between the decisions facing these two groups of people is a...

The man is a complete buffoon, what do you expect.
I don’t think I’m “radicalised” Gulliver.

I voted remain, and I never wanted Johnson as the PM.

The difference is, I am able to understand what he said - whereas you don’t have the ability to do so.
Excellent posts, JJ.

Hymie. He is a complete buffoon which was amusing on HIGNFY but is embarrassing now. Even more embarrassing is that he still has people supporting him.
His inability to construct a sentence that makes any sense in answer to a question without a piece of paper in front of him would be funny were it not so serious.

I googled "Johnson's inability to string a sentence together" in case I was alone in being annoyed by it. Made interesting reading.
If you understand, Deskdiary, then, looking at the Brexit vote result ...

Leave: 51.9%
Remain: 48.1%
Turnout: 72%

Can you explain how this is analogous to the Ukrainians fighting for their lives and their freedom? Please tell me the Ukrainians that are equivalent to "leave", "remain" and "did not vote".
Whinging remainers see more in this than there is...quelle surprise.

meanwhile.

“ we should be ashamed”. I’m not in the least bit ashamed jj. His thoughts are definitely not mine. Good post .
Tribalism leads to blindness. If you're on one side you will automatically deny anything, however reasonable, that the other gang says. You don't address their issues in a logical way, you simply deny, and often insult.
Anyone here recognise themself?
Roy, it wasn't Remainers who compared Brexit to Ukraine. Boris did. And not in an off the cuff comment, but a prepared speech. Read into that what you will. Boris clearly wanted something to be read into it or he wouldn't have said it. I know what I read into it ... he's a prat.
All in all I think Biden and Boris need to stand down from the podium. One seems to be on the edge of alzheimers, the other engages his mouth before his brain. Not a good mix for dealing with a nutter like Putin.
joggerjane //And it is no good to say "oh, this is all he meant, it's all been taken out of context". The world does not read his mind. The world only hears his words.//

and those words that offend you so much are ?
Ellipses - unfortunately I can’t understand it for you; if you can’t see it, it’s because of your own inability.
// Biden needs to stand down from the podium. He seems to be on the edge of alzheimers //

On Ukraine Biden has been exemplary. His touch has been delicate and perfect.
J/J Best answer ..spot on ..standing ovation, from me.
I can see it all too well, Deskdiary ...
08.12 There is none so blind as those that do not want to see Ellipsis.....Deskdiary needs to go to Specsavers.
